Ward Davis played the legendary Machine Shop with Flint’s ‘The Outfit’ in support

Ward Davis has been in my Spotify top 10 list for several years. So clearly, I was stoked to be able to cover the show at the Machine Shop last Friday. This was the first time I had seen him with a full band; I had seen an acoustic show a few years ago at Big Bore BBQ in Minnesota.
Davis featured new songs from his newest release “Here I am” and all of his best known stuff. The band was sharp and energetic, knowing just how to highlight Davis’ brilliant songwriting.
The opening support was a local Bluegrass band called The Outfit – and they were fantastic. Excellent originals and clever covers; I loved their version of Hey Joe by Jimi Hendrix. Give them a listen.
